Sam Mcever

Mr. Darrell Samuel "Sam" McEver, Jr., age 78, of Milner, passed away July 19, 2025, at his home.  Sam grew up in Jonesboro and graduated from Jonesboro High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Sam worked as an electrician for RJ Haynie & Associates in Morrow for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing with his friend, Matt Thompson, hunting trips out west and fishing in Steinhatchee, Florida.

Sam was a much loved husband, father and brother.  He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Hazel McEver.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Carolyn Looney McEver; sons: Darrell McEver III and Kyle McEver; and a sister Ellen Barker.

A celebration of Sam's life will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at The Historic Griffin Hotel, 132 W Solomon St, Griffin, GA 30223.  Refreshments will be served.
