Shelia Mitchell

Mrs. Shelia Dale Madden Mitchell, age 72, of Molena, passed away March 31, 2026, at her home.  Shelia was born in Centre, Alabama, daughter of the late Troy Madden and the late Polly Mae Webb Madden. Shelia enjoyed thrifting, cooking for her family on holidays, and collecting antique jewelry. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughters and her sisters. Shelia often said that serving people was her greatest joy in life.

Shelia loved to have singing and preaching playing on her tv at all times.  She shared her love for Jesus with everyone she met, and always made sure to tell others "Jesus loves you".  Her favorite color was lavender.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise and Linda.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years: Jim Mitchell; children: Mark Mitchell (Jenny) and Crystal McClanahan (Jeff); granddaughters: Kendle Adams (Brady), Allie Mitchell (Tanner Fields), and Emily Corbitt; sisters: Janet Wilkerson and Patricia Lyons; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Oak Hill Cemetery, 797 Memorial Drive, Griffin. Pastor Stacey Wilkerson will officiate. Friends may visit with the family following the service at the cemetery.

In honor of Shelia, her family kindly asks that you wear something lavender to the service.
