Stacy Marc Shaw

Stacy Marc Shaw, Zebulon, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly as the result of an accident in his home on February 14, 2024.  He was born December 3, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Cimmie D. and Lura (Hall) Shaw.  Stacy was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Madeline Carol Bizub (2006) and a brother, David ("Dave") Hall Shaw (2016.)  Of his immediate family he is survived by his brother Claude Dennis Shaw (Marilyn White) and six nieces and nephews:  Matthew Bizub, Toni Marie (Shaw) Koch, C. Denise Shaw (Ron Acuna), Christopher D. Shaw (Bridget), Rebecca (White) Wyatt (Jason) and Justin Shaw. He also has five surviving first cousins and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. They loved him unconditionally.  Stacy's family also includes the deep bonds he shared with his loyal friends. He was surrounded by a wonderful community who loved him dearly and intensely.  He is already missed by a legion of people.

Stacy was a 1981 graduate of Forest Park (Georgia) Senior High School and served in the US Army for nearly seven years as a mechanic from 1983 to 1989 in Germany and Virginia.  He was proud of his military service. He celebrated his 60th birthday in December.

Over his too short life he held positions and roles as a mechanic and driver.  Most recently he worked as a driver on a fuel truck.  He took great pride in doing good work for the people who employed him.  He had been disabled for about two years and was unable to work.  He was a regular worshipper at Molena Baptist Church in Molena, Georgia.

His interests included ancestry, dancing, listening to music, guns, his friends, and family, as well as preserving, protecting, and defending the Constitution as he came to understand it through study, reading and discussion.  Stacy had a good mind, was well read, particularly in history and politics and was fiercely loyal to ideas and people he believed in and those who believed in him. He was a person of great personal Christian faith. He was willing to give a hand-up to whoever needed one and to lend a hand to family whenever they needed it. He and a nephew gathered and hauled furniture to his sister after Katrina's devastation. He provided a nephew a home and gave a woman dying of cancer a place to live and cared for her in her final days. Those are illustrative, not exhaustive.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a memorial gift to Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Stacy.

We would also ask you to be in prayer for those who loved him and appreciated the intensity of his views, both within the family and outside of it.  He will be missed. What might you do?  Beyond remembering him through Wounded Warrior or some other Veteran-focused ministry, tell someone you love that you love them unconditionally and that their presence in this life means a lot to you and do it today.

We are having Stacy's Celebration at his home in Zebulon. 1871-A Williams Mill Road, Zebulon, Georgia. GPS will probably take you to 1871. Be alert. Look for a tent.

Saturday. July 6th. Gather about 5:00 pm or so. Start the celebration about 6:00 or so. Send me a text or email if coming.

Chance for all to speak a little. I have invited a few.

We will spread his ashes. You will be invited to do that. Wear good shoes.

If you have a photo you want to share, copy it and bring it. Looking to attach a photo to a tree or two. Copy.

We will plan on having a combination of catered food and potluck. If you can bring a dish (salad, dessert, side dish) to pass, thank you.

We will have a tent and chairs but a lawn chair might be better for post Celebration eating and talking.

We will have non alcoholic fluids. BYO if looking for beer or wine.

Bring a lie or two. Hopefully we can laugh a little between our tears.
