Stanley Boyt

Mr. Stanley Eugene Boyt, age 75, of Zebulon, passed away August 25, 2026. Stanley was born in Thomaston, son of the late Talmadge Eugene “E. T.” Boyt and the late Clyde Gray Boyt Hawkins.

Stanley was a graduate of R.E. Lee Institute in Thomaston, as well as Gordon Military College. He later enjoyed a long career with Norfolk Southern Railway, where he began as a dispatcher and eventually retired as a transportation department company official. When his sons were young, he was actively involved in their lives, serving as a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts and coaching their baseball teams. For 13 years, Stanley has been a bus driver for the Pike County School System.

He enjoyed his morning word search puzzles, trips to the beach, being outdoors hunting and fishing, playing chess, but mostly spending time with his grandchildren. When he was younger, he loved to build anything out of wood. He would use his saw to create bird houses, toolboxes, wooden chests and even neck bolos for the scouts’ neckerchiefs.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Ann Teal; and nephew, Tal Boyt.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Michele Peterman Boyt; children: Lisa Hansen (Greg), Charlton Boyt (Trisha Ann), and Jonathan Boyt (Elizabeth); grandchildren: Jackson Carter (Emma), Aubrey Boyt, Mary Moss (Justin), Macy Carter, Austin Boyt (Bethany), Triton Boyt, Liam Hansen, Remington Boyt, and Lexington Boyt; great-grandchildren: Kyrie Knox Miller, Kaliyah Marie Holsey, Saylor Kate Boyt, Landry Kole Boyt, Carter McCoy Moss, and Callahan Kace Boyt; sister: Diane Butch (Bob); brother: Tony James Boyt (Net); several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the funeral home. A celebration of life service for Stanley will follow at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.
