Terry Jones

Terry Morris Jones, age 55, of The Rock, passed away on January 12, 2024, at Eternal Hope Hospice after a brief battle with cancer. Terry was born February 11, 1968, in Griffin, Georgia to Wilbur "Buddy" and Patricia (Pritchett) Jones. Terry married the love of his life, Julie Campbell, on June 19, 1987, and to this union Lyndsay Brooke and Zachary Morris were born. While he was a heavy equipment operator by trade, it was his side gigs he loved most. Weekends were spent on the lake throw'n a line, in the pits at the dirt track, making Brunswick stew at Rhino's, singing karaoke, preaching around a fire, and hitting the highway on his Harley with the "Scooter Squad."

Terry was a loving husband, a doting father, and the most loving Pa. He loved to make memories with his grandbabies at the beach and spent hours talking guns and cutting the grass with Reid.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Pat Jones, his mother and father-in-law, Jewel and Archie Campbell and his beloved son, Zachary Morris Jones.

Left to grieve his memory are his wife, Julie Jones; his daughter and son-in-law, Lyndsay and Johnathan Sutton; his three grandbabies, Avery Grace, Annistyn Kate and Reid Sutton; brothers and a sister-in-law, Shane Jones, Slade and Becky Jones; along with nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of special friends that he was so blessed to have.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery in Thomaston.

Friends may visit the family on Monday, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
