Troy Nixon, Jr.

Mr. Troy Edward Nixon, Jr., age 72, of Thomaston, passed away August 10, 2025, at his home. Troy grew up in Thomaston, son of the late Troy Edward Nixon, Sr. and the late Betty Littleton Nixon. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. In his early career, he worked for Thomaston Press-Quad Graphics for over 20 years. He later took a job with the Georgia Department of Transportation.  Troy enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Baby Girl. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marshall Nixon.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Deborah Nixon; daughters: Kelli Nixon (David Frasier), Amanda Thiel (Benjamin), Tamera Burdette (Bobby), Amber Jones, and Crystal Jones; grandchildren: Jaycee Avery, Summer Nixon, Mathias Thiel, Dana Carroll (Jamie), Becky Broughton (David), Trey Burdette (Kaetlin), Kamryn Bevel, Wehndi Pitts, and Abbee Pitts; sisters: Deborah Hancock (Greg), Rachel Pergola and Donna Johnson (Tom); 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Troy's life, including military honors, will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, 2 p.m., at Mt. View Baptist Church, 2569 Jeff Davis Rd, Thomaston. Pastors Ryan Christopher, Derrick Keeter, and Chet Yates will officiate.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the church.
