Verna Nell Jones

Mrs. Verna Nell Garner Jones, 69, of Griffin, passed away on November 21, 2024. Born in Griffin Georgia, daughter of the late Jake and Martha Garner. She graduated from Pike County High School in 1973. Verna spent her life dedicated to her family, and cherishing the simple joys of spending time with loved ones and friends. She worked at Waffle House as a waitress for most of her working life and devoted 20 years to Huckaby's in Brooks as well.

She is preceded in death by daughter, Susan Inez Jones, infant sister, Amanda Lynn Garner, sisters, Sara Statham, Erma Coleman, Mary Garner, and brother, Jake Garner Jr.

She is survived by son: Flynt Jones; grandson: Rylan Walter Cox; sister: Martha Garner; nieces: Amanda Garner and Abigale Garner; nephew: Mark Statham Jr. ; many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held by the family at a later date.
