Wanda Lea Hoover Caldwell, age 93, of Marietta, passed away July 14, 2026, at her home. Wanda was born in Thawville, Illinois, on July 14, 1933, to Ervin and Verna Lucille (Weber) Hoover.
Wanda met her husband, David, while working at Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois and they were married on November 9th, 1952. After moving to Georgia, Wanda became quite accomplished by working for the Georgia Secretary of State’s office, before becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed attending her children’s sporting events as they grew up and was also a longtime fan of the Atlanta Hawks; always an avid supporter even later in life. She also liked to spend time following the stock market and trading stocks.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 74 years, David Caldwell, Sr., who continues to live in Marietta, Georgia. Also surviving are her three children David Caldwell, Jr. of Marietta, Georgia, Kevin Lee (Kristen) Caldwell of Roswell, Georgia, and Daryl James Caldwell of Newnan, Georgia; six grandchildren, Austin James Caldwell, Emma Grace (Billy) Barahona, William Lee Caldwell, Hamilton Reece Caldwell, Callan Margaret Caldwell, and Molly Claire Caldwell; four great-grandchildren Henry Lee Caldwell, Nina Anne Barahona, Vivianna Marie Barahona, and John Josue Barahona; three siblings Gail (Hoover) Snow, Pastor Bob Hoover, and Sharon (Hoover) Lee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her siblings Floyd Hoover, Marvin Hoover, Ervaleen (Hoover) Smith, and Lyla (Hoover) Reed.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., in Concord Baptist Church. Pastor Michael Moody will officiate. Burial will follow in Old Hebron Cemetery, Concord.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the church.
