Wayne Reeves

Mr. James Wayne Reeves, age 73, of Griffin, passed away November 28, 2021.  Wayne was born in Williamson, son of the late James Curtis Reeves and Hazel Kempson Reeves.  He began his career in the shipping office at Spalding Knitting Mills.  He worked there for 33 years, leaving when the office closed.  He then took a job at AEP (formerly Borden Chemicals) where he worked for an additional 23 years.

Wayne was the family cook.  He enjoyed watching cooking shows, playing the guitar and collecting antiques. He loved animals, especially his Scotties.  Wayne was a wonderful husband, dad and granddad.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Merrilea Reeves; daughter and son-in-law: Charity and Ron Allen of Griffin; son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Kelly Reeves of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Brennan Allen, Christian Allen, Aaric Reeves, Mikayla Reeves, Xander Reeves and Gabe Reeves; sister and brother-in-law: Jean and Gus Adams of Pike County.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Moody officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
