Wayne Sanders

Mr. Troy Wayne Sanders, age 80, of Zebulon, passed away March 31, 2022, at his home. He was born in Piedmont, AL, son of the late Troy Mac Sanders and Dorothy Pearl Reid Sanders. For most of his working life, Wayne was a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed riding horses, gardening, and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Jeanette Johnson Sanders, infant daughter Lisa Darlene Sanders, brother Billy, and sisters Kay and Sybil.

He is survived by his children: Teresa Boswell of Zebulon, Mark Sanders (Debbie) of Cleveland, William Sanders (Tonya) of Concord, and Amanda Sanders of Zebulon; grandchildren: Brett, Heather, Blaine, Alison, Julie, Felicia, Matthew, Alex, Steven and Ava; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Tyrone.

Friends may visit the family on Monday, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
