William (Billy) Slade Rhodes

William (Billy) Slade Rhodes, age 30, of Griffin, passed away November 13, 2021, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Billy was born in Albany and lived in the Stockbridge, Adel and Jenkinsburg areas for many years before moving to Griffin. He was a hard worker, owning his own landscaping business for several years. He also built metal buildings, worked with cell phone towers and solar panels. Billy enjoyed his work in the concrete business with Filter Kleen in McDonough, and his current job with Knox Concrete.

Billy enjoyed riding his Harley, camping, fishing and hunting. More than anything, he loved spending time with his wife, children and his family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas T. Rhodes, Charles Hal and Barbara Slade Dayhuff.

He is survived by his wife: Rose Mays Rhodes; children: Kyland Slade Rhodes, Micah A. Swearengin and Rhys B. Mays; parents: William (Wiley) Rhodes and Martha C. (Marty) Dayhuff Rhodes; brothers: Andrew Wiley Rhodes and wife Krystin M. Rhodes and David (Lukas) Rhodes; sisters: Laci Caroline Rhodes and Jade and Emily Kathleen Rhodes; grandmother: Peggy J. Rhodes; mother-in-law: Mary Ann Maslanka; father-in-law: Dennis J. Maslanka; sister-in-law: September Denman; nephew: Hunter C. Roberson; niece: Olivia L. Rhodes; many more aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor James McCoy officiating.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
