Yvette Bennett Tolson

Yvette Lynn Bennett Tolson, age 53, of Pike County, passed away May 23, 2022, at her home. She grew up in Pike County, graduating from Pike County High School in 1986, where she was a cheerleader. Yvette attended Gordon College and then Georgia State University in Atlanta where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.  Before ALS hit, she enjoyed working as an administrative assistant to Anne Sapp, PC, Carr, Rahn & Associates and working with Share the Magic Foundation.

Yvette was a member of Concord Baptist Church, loved photography, traveling, music, searching for 4-leaf clovers, playing cards, Disney, Christmas, red, white and blue and God Bless America.   Her favorite hobby was Clara Shaw. They were kindred spirits and spent as much time as they could together.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Stephen "Steve" Bennett, and grandparents, Virgil and Jeanette Bennett and Floyd Turner.

She is survived by her mother: Charlotte T. Bennett; sister: Jennifer Bennett Flournoy and husband Bleu; nephew and nieces: Devin and wife Katherine, Morgan, Shyla and Rylan; great niece and nephew: Clara Shaw and Chap; grandmother: Clara Turner; aunts and uncles: Yvonne and Norman Turner, Debbie Bennett Dutton, Cindy Bennett Cox (Danny), and Tim Bennett; many cousins; and, her special caretakers: Kris Perkins, Christie Kidd, Kayla Hurt, and Gayla Woods.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday, May 26, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the funeral home.  A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Yearwood officiating.
